When you are being attacked and out numbered, you better believe you will do whatever it takes to defend yourself and the people you consider to be your family, I don’t care what you say. His intent was not to kill, but to defend. This is very unfortunate for both families. Self defense is not a crime, and it’s a shame that a life was lost over something so petty. The arraignment was Tuesday. All they do is put in his intent to participate in discovery and then post pone the trial until they can get everything (all the evidence) together. He is going to be in there for a long, long time before he even gets sentenced (which he will).

Parents need to be more aware of their own child’s anger problems and deal with them before something like this happens. I am a parent and my heart hurts for BOTH families. I don’t understand all this bickering back and forth. Its not helping any side’s case and making both parties look ignorant. Key West residents, you especially are better than this. Our skin is tougher and we don’t need to fuel the fire by posting comments here full of cursing and hatred. Those negative attitudes is what led us here. Let the people defending Nick carry that kind of baggage around. Down here we need to be positive for our community and optimistic that justice will be served the way it is intended to. Marques wouldn’t want to see this. All these threats to only cause more harm to others. There’s No way he would want this to be happen. It just proves nothing was learned from his loss. Do right by him and appreciate your lives and what they consist of. don’t waste time with the petty bitching. You want to help build the case in Marques’s favor then mimic the respectable behavior Marques would have. Prove to the courts and the defense that us locals aren’t a bunch of “thugs” and “gang members”. Anyone with any knowledge of Squeeze and his friends know neither of those titles apply. You would also know that such accusations are ridiculously out of character for the young men they are being applied to regardless of their background. We, the Key West Community, know the truth. and No matter how much you pound it into these sort of message boards, it won’t change the way the other side sees it. Its unfortunate but its sadly the truth. So preserve your character and don’t waste your time preaching to a deaf audience. Instead spread the good words you have on marques’s behalf around our island. I’m sure all residents will welcome the reminders of what a great person he was. As for those defending Nick, all i can say is I’m sad for you. Sad you can’t see the truth of the situation. No one wants to believe their side is wrong but I think you may need to face that harsh reality before that verdicts read. And then do your part to support him in the ways he will need it. I think it’s really funny that people are still trying to defend Nick Ferro. I grew up with Marques and he was one of my closest friends. I attended the bond hearing so I thought I would enlighten you. First off, some of Nick’s homeboy’s that were in the fight with him are the one’s that dimed him out and are testifying against him. Wow that makes me wonder. Second of all his family and friends were looking awfully sick when they heard some of the testimony. I guess they finally realized the monster he really is. Some of his black friends looked disgusted with Nick when they heard that he said “watch that ni**a drop”. The truth is coming out and from what I can tell Nick is in deep trouble and will be in jail for a long time. The longer I listened the more I knew in my heart justice will be served. Forever in my mind and heart I miss and love you Squeeze.

Monroe County bought in some prosecutors from Miami (conflict of interest if they kept the local guys). This team from Miami is making his lawyers look stupid at every hearing.
